The College offers courses toward a diploma for the
following programs: Dental Assisting, Medical
Assisting, and Professional Office Administration. The
following program descriptions outline the course
offerings for these diplomas. Each diploma program
can be completed in as little as 12 months of daytime
classes or 21 months of evening classes. Diploma
graduates receive the same benefit of lifetime
placement assistance as the degree program
graduates.
Dental Assisting
The Dental Assisting Diploma Program provides students training in a
simulated dental office setting using dental instruments, materials, and
equipment for procedures in four-handed dentistry. The additional training
in business and clerical skills opens a variety of placement opportunities.
Program Objectives
Graduates of the Dental Assisting Diploma Program will:
- be employed in their field.
- perform clinical/laboratory skills proficiently.
- demonstrate competency in business office skills.
- demonstrate ethical and responsible behavior in the dental office
setting.
- demonstrate competence in following OSHA regulations and
implementing infection control procedures.
- be competent, entry-level employees.
Medical Assisting
The Medical Assisting Diploma Program offers intensive medical studies
with practical clinical and laboratory training in a simulated medical
environment. Students also learn office administration skills which give
them an increased number of career options in every area of medicine.
Program Objectives
Graduates of the Medical Assisting Diploma Program will:
- be employed in their field.
- perform clinical/laboratory skills proficiently.
- demonstrate ethical and responsible behavior in the medical facility
setting.
- demonstrate competency in business office skills.
- be competent entry-level employees.
Professional Office Administration
The Professional Office Administration Diploma Program prepares well trained
office assistants with strong clerical, computer, and word processing
skills. The specialization areas provide additional employment skills.
Program Objectives
Graduates of the Professional Office Administration Diploma Program will:
- be employed in their field.
- be proficient in the use of various computer applications software
and other current technology.
- display a variety of administrative office skills indicative of their
specialized fields.
- demonstrate strong clerical skills.
- be competent entry-level employees.
